石ノ森章太郎氏原作のSFアクション漫画「009ノ1（ゼロゼロクノイチ）」が、坂本浩一監督のメガホンで実写映画化されることが明らかになった。主人公のサイボーグエージェント、ミレーヌ・ホフマン（009ノ1）を演じるのは、女優の岩佐真悠子。本格的なアクションはもちろん、セクシーシーンに も果敢に挑んでいる。
石ノ森氏の生誕75周年記念作品として製作される今作のタイトルは、「009ノ1 THE END OF THE BEGINNING」。1967年に連載がスタートした原作は、石ノ森氏にとって初めての青年コミック誌作品となり、代表作「サイボーグ009」のアダルト版として位置づけられている。映画では、原作の設定やキャラクターを再現しながら、オリジナルのアクションシーンやセクシーシーンを盛り込む。
主演の岩佐は、冷戦状態の二国間で活躍するサイボーグエージェント、ミレーヌ・ホフマンに息吹を注ぎ込み、揺れ動く感情表現を体現している。ガンアクションだけでなく、原作にもある両乳房から放つバストガンも駆使するという。相当のプレッシャーがあったようで、「私で務まるんだろうかと思いましたが、この先そんな大役を任せていただけるかもわからないので、スタッフさんたちの力を信じることに」と述懐。撮影を終え、「慣れないアクションや寒さなど、大変だったことは多々あったはずですが、今思い返すと楽しい記憶しか残っていません!!」とコメントを寄せた。
アクション監督も兼ねる坂本監督は、ハリウッドを拠点にニュージーランドや台湾でも作品を手がけ、09年に「大怪獣バトル ウルトラ銀河伝説 THE MOVIE」で日本デビューを果たす。その後は、「仮面ライダー」シリーズ、「スーパー戦隊」シリーズでも活躍。最新VFXで知られるツークン研究所とタッグを組んだ今作は、「女性が強く、カッコ良く、セクシーなアクション映画。そんな邦画が見たい！ という強い願いから生まれたのがこの作品です。邦画界でのヒロインアクション映画ジャンル確立を目指して撮りました！」と並々ならぬ意欲をうかがわせている。
